Connect Mag - Term 1 2021 by KingsWay School

Term 1 Connect Magazine, 2021

With great enthusiasm and gratitude, I get to introduce the first KingsWay Connect magazine for 2021.

Dear KingsWay Community,

Despite a few COVID-related hitches, the term's programme was mainly disruption-free. I particularly enjoyed seeing and participating this term in many of our annual culture-building activities cancelled last year. I will pray that this year continues to be a year of blessing where students get the benefits of all KingsWay has to offer.

KingsWay's leadership continues to strive to evaluate for innovation and improvement. We are excited by the success of past endeavours and trust and pray for future initiatives. These strategic intents are linked and outlined in three key school documents: the 2030 KingsWay Strategic Growth and Development Plan (KSG&DP), the 2021 Charter, and the Annual Plan. The school leadership and Board are committed to systematically innovating and improving these areas as outlined in the 2030 KSG&DP. You can view a summary of progress by clicking on the relevant image in the attached Annual Plan. At the end of each year, the school management produces a yearly report outlining progress towards meeting the Charter's goals.

An essential advantage of having a long-term view of growth and development is that the Board and Management can plan, research and resource identified areas before implementation. The Proprietor can also schedule and budget the associated resourcing and building programmes. For the past three years, a leadership group has consulted with staff and students and researched several areas highlighted in this year's annual plan. This work continues now in earnest in preparation for implementation in 2021.

The Executive Leadership Team updates the Board termly on progress towards achieving the Annual Plan. This year, I hope to update the community more regularly on meeting the strategic plan's goals in the termly KingsWay Connect magazine. Furthermore, we invite community representation to assist and consult with staff and student working groups with developing different programmes. 35th Anniversary Celebration — Image by: KingsWay School

This year, we celebrate 35 years of God's faithfulness to KingsWay School. KingsWay is built on the foundations of prayer, reliance on God, solid parent partnership, and sacrifice. I want to thank the community for the ongoing support you provide each year to enhance the original vision and mission.

New Developments and Modifications

KingsWay's student roll continues to grow exponentially. The proprietors and Board continue to resource various developments to support this growth and meet additional demand for Christian education. The school completed Stage 1 of the new Junior Secondary in 2020 and a few classroom upgrades. This year the school finishes Stage 2 of the Junior Secondary, including specialist spaces and resourcing spaces. Moreover, KingsWay has Council consent to install a massive cover for the current Astro turf at the Senior Campus this year. This improvement allows teachers access to another all-weather surface for sport, meeting and Physical Education.

I want to thank the Board and Proprietor for stretching the finances to ensure the school is well placed to continue to deliver outstanding programmes and outcomes for our students.

God bless,

Graeme Budler
Executive Principal
