Mike Molloy —

Level 4 is upon us again as we fight back against COVID-19

Kia ora KSS Whānau,

Here we are suddenly back in Level 4 Lockdown. I hope you are all adapting to the sudden change. This might seem like an extended weekend for some and for others we are back to the juggle of working and trying to teach/entertain the children. This can bring back high levels of anxiety in us and our children. Make sure your well-being is your top priority.

Our messages to you are:

  • Do what you can when you can - no judgement.
  • Be caring and be kind to others.
  • Ask for help if you need it - stay connected.
  • Stay safe and follow the rules to help everyone.
  • Our school values are the glue that will hold us all together.

The Kaiako (teachers) have been busy updating their learning blogs and Seesaw workflow. The Blogs are now accessible from the school website. Seesaw is the APP that most of you will already be using to view and share learning. The teachers are being super courageous and are posting videos so the children can hear their voices and see their faces.

My feeling is that we will be kept in level 3 or 4 for a while. We are preparing for this eventuality. Like last time we will form two bubble groups under Level 3 for essential workers children. The teachers will follow the same online platform as children at home.

There are two surveys to complete for each family so we can prepare for the next week.

We will do what we can to make this as easy for parents as possible.

Stay safe and keep connected.
