Walk or Wheel to School Week
Monday 4 March to Friday 8 March
Our school is participating in Walk or Wheel to School Week, brought to you by Christchurch City Council. This is a fun and action packed week that encourages walking and wheeling to school. Scoot, bike, skate, walk or do anything that doesn’t involve cars to school! There are themes each day, prizes and lots of giveaways over the time of the event.
Everyday you do one of the activities, your whanau teacher will give you a house point and will sign one of the activities so you can gain a ticket for the prize draw at the end of the week. To get in the draw for some awesome prizes you have to complete at least 3 tasks. If you normally drive, get your parents to park further away from the school and walk part of the way.
Let’s help our planet and get some house points in that jar!
The activities are:
- To start it off we have ‘Move it Monday’ so be ready to get those legs moving!
- Prepare to overload the group chat with plans because on Tuesday you need to travel in a group of friends and family.
- Get ready to get bright because on Wednesday you’ll be wearing any accessories with neon colors. Hi-vis vests for example. Anything bright will count! You still need to wear your uniform but think accessories!
- How can you help the earth? Thoughtful Thursday is all about helping the environment, and creating a better planet for us and the generations to come. If everyone can chip in we can help make a difference!
- Prepare to get funky on Friday because you need to have some colorful shoes. Wear your weirdest footwear, like wheelies, gum boots, football boots or jazz up your sneakers with glitter, tinsel or feathers - go wild!
We hope to see all you walking and wheeling all week!!
