Litter Free Lunchboxes!

Beth Ridge —

We are embarking on a mission...

Here at KSS we have a vision, that our school will be free of litter floating around. We understand that this isn’t going to happen tomorrow but we have started incorporating some things around the school to make this a possibility.

Our youngest learners have received beeswax wraps to help them on their journey, we had a trial run of prizes for litter free lunch boxes last year, we’ve had a food scrap bin and now we would like to achieve our vision of zero litter.

Small steps are the key to success here; you could start by just unwrapping your child's food items before sending them to school or you could choose one thing to be litter-free in the lunchbox. We want to take the pressure off and make this a gradual process. To make this exciting for the children we have started an initiative where if they are spotted by our enviro leaders with litter-free lunchboxes they go into a prize draw to win some cool environmentally friendly prizes! It would be great if we could all work together to help our vision come to light.
