Anna Ashby —

Each week the school council work together with the Tumuaki to make a positive difference at KSS. This term teachers have come to them for help with: Maths Week, Book Week, Lunchtime games and activities and being on welcoming at the gate. Here is a report from them.

Welcome back everyone! A fresh term starts again. The first few weeks  have been very busy and very settling. It’s great to see the tamariki getting back in the habit of wearing masks. There is also a new addition to the school, the construction sites, the builders are currently building a new block for the school. Ōwaka will be the new block for the Year 7&8’s.

The children of KSS have been very curious with all the Math Week activities like Lego Club and the Scavenger Hunt.

All the students have a Hell Pizza Wheel, you need to read seven books and go to the teacher and explain this book briefly to the teacher. They will tick it off, once you’ve done this 7 times you can get a free kids pizza.

Regardless, the Years 5-8 are off to a fantastic day at Porters Ski field on the 1st of September. This trip will be a great experience for those who have never skied before, and even if they have, it’ll still be a fun time for everyone to hang out with their friends, in the snow, skiing or snowboarding.
