Looking for something for the kids to do in the holidays?

Sue Beattie —

The NZ Wound Care Society (NZWCS) is a non-profit organisation and in partnership with ACC we are conducting our second National Wound Awareness week from 26 July to 1 August 2021.

This year’s topic is ‘Burns and Scalds’ and because children are a high-risk group for these preventable injuries, we would like to raise awareness through a competition.

For students, we suggest they develop content that raises an awareness on the prevention or first aid of burns and scalds that may be used by ‘NZ Burn Support’ to promote prevention and/or first aid messages to consumers. We encourage students to be as creative as they can by, designing either a digital outcome, a poster or an artwork.

Please note submitting an entry gives permission to use the winning entrant as part of a campaign by NZWCS or ‘Burns Support’.

A prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the school for the best creation. Attached is a flyer with some ideas.

All competition material for judging should be submitted by post or email by Friday 6 August to:

NZ Wound Care Society Administrator

Email: administrator@nzwcs.org.nz

74 Fergusson Road, RD9, Feilding 4779, New Zealand

Please include the name of your school and the nominated contact person with contact details.

Judging will take place by the ‘NZ Burn Support’ team and notification of success will be by Friday 27th August
