EOTC Camp Survey

Mike Molloy —

Please take the time to complete this short survey.

We believe in providing a range of managed experiences for our Year 4 - 8 children to learn to assess, take risks and build self confidence.

We utilise a range of settings (Alpine, Sea and River) to ensure the children have differing experiences. Examples are: Mountain (Hanmer, Living Springs), Sea (Wainui), Koukourarata - (Port Levy, Orton Bradley), River (Waipara).

The purpose of the camps is to give an authentic experience that support students learning and confidence within the outdoors. We believe that a range of organised activities provided by certified EOTC providers, delivered alongside outdoor survival skills gives our students an experience that challenges them physically, emotionally and mentally.

Camps help build positive relationships, self confidence, resilience and teamwork skills. Camps are also one of the most enjoyable experiences in a child’s school life!

When planning camps we have taken into consideration the cost for families. Camps usually cost approximately $250 - $300 for a 2 night event. We aim to keep these as low as possible and no camp will be for longer than 3 days and are currently scheduled for every 2 years.

Camp Durations:

Year 4   2 day camp (1 night stay at school and day trips to be held in term 4 as a preparation camp for Year 5 - 8).

Year 5 - 8  3 Day camp (2 nights offsite and 3 days - even years).

We are wanting some feedback on our plans so we ensure our EOTC curriculum reflects the communities needs and expectations.
