From the Tumuaki's Table - Term 2, Week 10, 2023

Mike Molloy —

This week we have been celebrating the superb support staff we have at KSS and would like to take this opportunity to recognise the work they do and thank them for it. Our office staff, teacher aides, and caretaker are an integral part of life, enhancing the school experience for all. Our bell music has been specially curated for this week and includes lyrics such as "simply the best", "pocket full of sunshine" and "everyday heroes" because that is what they mean to us!

This week I have been in Auckland on a leadership coaching course. It has been refreshing undertaking some professional development as a Principal to ensure I can lead the school to the best of my ability. It is also great to remember that we have two ears for listening and one mouth for speaking!

As a School Board, we are keen to listen to what parents/whānau have to say about the school! We have offered many sessions for parents to contribute but are yet to get the feedback we need. The children have also been giving their feedback in a few different forms.

I am very proud of the cultural leads - children and teachers that are making such an effort to celebrate all cultures at KSS. Thanks too to those parents that have supported us with the information about each celebration - even fixing up information in a few articles too! I was away so missed the Cultural Expo - I bet it was amazing! Thanks to all those that were proud to share their culture.

Have a fun-filled break with friends and family. We look forward to seeing refreshed faces ready to go again in term 3!
