Our first ever KSS whole school Cross Country

Craig Allchurch —

The inaugural whole school Cross Country/Fun Run went off without a hitch and there were plenty of smiling and exhausted faces at the conclusion of each race.

The day started off with perfect conditions, fresh cut grass and an eagerness from the students to get into the action.  The local ECE's were invited to compete and we were thrilled with the turnout. The ECE, junior and Waitaha races were more of a tough kid challenge with a variety of obstacles to tackle.  All children demonstrated our 5 C's incredibly well and had a lot of fun in the process.

Our Year 3-8 race was a more traditional style of Cross Country with a circuit on and around the school site.  Cross Country can often be a challenge to control the nerves, but we were so proud of all our tamariki with the amount of courage they showed.

Students who are in Years 5-8 have the opportunity to qualify for the Lincoln Zones, which are scheduled for the 27th of May. They need to be placed in the top 6 and finish within a certain time frame.  Students who are involved in this event will have a notice sent home in the coming days.

Thank-you to Matua George for organising such a successful event.
