From the Tumauaki's Table - Term 2, Week 11
The Leadership Programme at KSS is in full swing!
Recently the newly appointed leadership positions were announced at the Celebration Assembly. We are in a fortunate position with such small numbers in the senior school to offer all of the senior students an opportunity to lead. We are aiming towards the Year 7 & 8 children to be given the responsibilities to lead across the school.
Senior Student Leadership for Knights Stream School
At Knights Stream School we want to promote a strong sense of whānau and a safe environment for students to thrive and reach their full leadership potential. By providing our senior students with leadership opportunities, it will help foster relationships, create a sense of pride and ownership in our school and develop the culture for our senior students.
All Year 7 and 8 students are recognised as leaders at Knights Stream School and there will be many opportunities for our seniors to develop their leadership abilities. Each senior student will be placed into a committee that organise events, and support the younger students at Knights Stream School. Within these committees, there can be leaders of specific tasks, but there is no one designated full-time leader.

Are seen as leaders by their peers
Be an effective role model for all students at KSS
Be an excellent communicator
Show a high level of empathy
Be well organised and punctual
At the moment we have teams busily planning their events for the school. Some of the student-led initiatives are the KSS Battle of the Bikes Mountain Bike Race, Heroes Muftiday, Bake Sale, a Disco Team and a possible KSS Has Got Talent Show!
I think it is almost time for a holiday... a real one where you can leave the house!
Enjoy the last week of the term.
