It’s our lucky day!

We have an amazing collection in our whare pukapuka and this week we have added to it by winning not one but 2 prizes! Whaea Kelly has been lucky enough to win the brand new book by Selina Tusitala Marsh, Wot Not You Got? And a selection of books from Telling Tales and Gecko Press! Whaea Anna’s tamariki helped us to open the beautifully wrapped parcels and reveal the gorgeous new books inside. Keep an eye on the new book shelf soon.

Next week your children will visit the whare pukapuka for the last time this term. With the help of their whānau teachers they will choose books to share and read over the school holidays. I encourage you to find time during the holidays to read and talk about books together. There are also lots of school holiday programmes and events on at The Christchurch City Libraries. Lots of them are free and can be enjoyed by tamariki of all ages so take the whole whānau!
