Seesaw at Knights Stream School

Catherine Mackenzie —

What is Seesaw? Seesaw is an app that provides a digital learning journal for teachers and students to document learning creatively by adding entries to it like photos, videos, drawings, documents and notes to share learning at school in a safe and secure environment.

Our Seesaw programme has two parts:

1) Learning Journals

Each student has their own Seesaw learning journal.

Posts in Seesaw will vary depending on student's age and classroom, but the purpose remains the same across the school; to allow students to share and keep a record of their learning.

As a parent or family member, you can receive notifications when your child makes a post to their journal, though the Seesaw parent app, free to download on any platform or through the Seesaw website. You can also download any of your child’s items. Extended whānau are also encouraged to join!

You will receive an invite soon that explains how to sign up.

Watch this intro video for more information.

Please contact Whaea Catherine if you have any questions or need some support with Seesaw.

2) Class Blogs

The class blogs are managed by the classroom kaimahi (teachers) and give families and the wider community a glimpse of class culture; things students are celebrating or experiencing together. The blogs cannot be accessed through the Seesaw app. They run as a separate website. You can access them here, on our school website or by bookmarking your child's class blog on your personal device.
