KSS Swimming Sports 2019

Craig Allchurch —

What a day we had for our first ever swimming sports event down at Te Puna Wai | Halswell Pool. All our tamariki should be very proud of their efforts in and out of the pool.

The weather turned it on for the day and we had some great results in the water. Although swimming a length or width for some students was a big effort, everybody showed courage and managed to leave the water with a smile on their face and a sense of achievement. We managed to get through the event in record time - 45 minutes. This meant the children were lucky enough to get back into the water and have a go on the hydroslide. Next year we will have more students and it will be great to see the two length events fill up after some instructional lessons we've got booked in term 2 this year.

Congratulations to Max and Kora from Paretai who both qualified for the Lincoln Zone Swimming Sports. Max and Kora both placed 4th in their events - well done!

We also had Taylor from Paretai compete in the Lincoln Zone Duathlon this week. Taylor was the only child who flew the flag for Knights Stream at the Duathlon and placed 18th in the Year 6 Boys event. Ka Pai!
