From the Tumuaki's Table - Term 4 - Week 8

Mike Molloy —

Congratulations to Whaea Holly and Whaea Beth - fully registered teachers!

This week we celebrated Whaea Holly and Whaea Beth who both received their full teaching registration after 2 years of full-time teaching! We are super proud of these two KSS Kaiako for working hard at there dreams and demonstrating courage and commitment to the profession.

Two weeks ago the first KSS Battle of the Mountian Bikes Race was held at Halswell Quarry. 17 riders entered in both the competitive and non-competitive sections. All the riders shredded the tracks with great enthusiasm. We thank the many parent helpers that supported the running of the event. Perhaps next year the girls will take part!

Class placements for 2021 are open to view on Hero from Friday 4 December. Some classes are large and we are planning staffing to support the growth we are experiencing.  All children are spending Tuesday morning with their 2021 Whānau Class Teacher and classmates to support a positive transition.

School reports will be open for viewing on Friday 11 December. This is a great opportunity to share the successes of 2020 with your child. Even though we have had a challenging year, most children have still managed to maintain progress with their learning. Please remember that success is not just measured by academic achievement but also attitudes and values.

This is the last newsletter from me for 2020. My last address to the school will be at the final End of Year Celebration Assembly on Thursday 17 December at 6pm. Due to increased numbers, we do ask that families keep to two adults per family.

Have a safe holiday and a very Merry Christmas.
