This is taking place at Halswell Quarry and heads up to our Maunga (Mountain) Ōtūmatua above the quarry.

Our objectives for the day are: 

• Top get to know our school pepeha and to connect ourselves to our place 
• To identify flora that is significant to our kura 
• A day out as a community We invite all whānau who wish to join us on this day. 

We will be asking parents to take small groups for an orienteering exercise and games after lunch. Please let Matua George know if you wish to join us and can take a group: george.lecciones@knightsstream.school.nz 

The children and staff will be travelling by bus (there is no charge for the buses). Parents will need to carpool or transport themselves. Preschool siblings will need to be capable of getting to the top of the hill if you wish to join for the whole event. 

Children will wear their school uniform, hat, warm jackets, sunscreen and will need appropriate footwear for the walk. They will need to take a light pack with their drink bottle, morning tea and lunch. We do not need permission forms as this is covered by the generic permission you signed on enrolment.
