From the Tumuaki's Table - Term 1, Week 5

Mike Molloy —

Kia ora everyone,

The landscape is a forever changing one at this uncertain time. It seems every week new guides and rules are amended to help us deal with the growing cases across New Zealand. We are working hard to ensure we do everything possible to keep your children safe at school.

The 3 mini schools are going very well - that's what each principal tells me! The children are happy and each learning programme is in full swing. Last week I was lucky enough to spend 3 days with the year 7 and 8's on their Wainui camp. We had a blast! My favourite activity was coasteering (jumping and swimming around an island in the sea). The children were fantastic and really showed our values of care and courage.

We will continue to update each area of the school as cases connected with the school emerge. The school Phase 3 Protocols will only be used if areas of the school need to isolate to help slow the spread of the virus so that we can keep programmes running.

Well done to those in Y4-8 that have taken up the BYOD scheme. This means you will be able to work online if the time comes. We will distribute school iPads down the school as best we can if need be. Our aim is not to burden you with too many emails and messages.

We hope by the end of 2022 we will have all communications, parent interview booking, Facebook, Newsletters, Website Info and Absentees through the Hero APP.

We appreciate the support from our school families - you are doing so well supporting the new 'normal' for your children. Stay safe and keep us updated if your situation changes.

Nga mihi nui

Mike
