Throughout 2019 our senior students have the rare opportunity to help develop and be involved in a number of leadership roles. All of our senior students are recognised as leaders and role models for our younger tamariki.

There are many benefits to senior students taking part in leadership programmes. It promotes a unique culture that is inclusive, positive and supportive for all tamariki. This year we have a number of committees being established that will be driven by the students with the support of the kaimahi. It is important for the students to drive the programmes as this will promote student engagement. 

Currently in Paretai (the senior part of Ōpouira) the students are applying for leadership committees. There is a wide range of opportunities from Whare Pukapuka (Library), Sports, Assembly compère, Enviro Club, KSS TV and many more to come.
