Our Year 5/6 Rugby and Netball teams competed with courage at the recent Primary Sports Canterbury Winter Tournaments.

On Thursday 5th September our Year 5/6 rugby and netball teams competed in the Primary Sports Canterbury Winter Tournaments at South Hagley Park.

They came up against some tough opposition from all around the Canterbury region but showed we can mix it with them.

Our rugby side went through pool play with just one close loss and made the quarter-finals. They lost their quarter final in a very close and tense game against Tinwald, who went on to win the tournament. After this loss, they played off for 5th-8th place, winning both games to finish 5th. Top 5 in all of the Canterbury region, a fabulous performance!

Our netball side started with a few losses that placed them into the bottom half of the playoffs, playing for 17th-32nd place. From this point on they had great success, and improved with each game played. They ended in 19th position, top 20 position in all of Canterbury, another great effort!
