A message from the Board of Trustees

Sue Beattie —

To all members of our school community,

Thank you for your willingness to support the changes we have had to implement at the school, under Covid’s red light level to keep the students and kaimahi safe. It can be hard to change the way you do something which you have done every day for a long time, and students and parents have adapted their entry and exit routine with understanding and good humour.

We appreciate the support you have given the school staff and management team. We know that Mike and the teachers miss seeing parents and caregivers face to face. However, all your words of encouragement at the gate and electronically have meant a lot to them.

A huge ngā mihi nui to our teachers, support staff and administrators for your commitment to our students and delivery of quality instruction. Our recent student assessment data shows gains in most areas. This was not expected considering the year we have had. Well done on your professionalism and care for the needs of every child. Your online teaching skills are amazing!

Our messages throughout this pandemic remain the same:

  • Do what you can when you can - no judgement.

  • Be caring, stay kind to others.

  • Ask for help if you need it - stay connected with others.

  • Our school values are the glue that will hold us all together.

Many aspects of our lives have changed due to this pandemic, and in watching the news and hearing stories from afar, I am grateful for the way that our community has responded. Thank you to every member of our hapori, not least of all our students. Keep up the great work everyone. 😊
