Tahseen Sultana - Lead Teacher —

Empowering Students to Excel and Grow at Kelston Girls' Provision

Kelston Girls' Provision started with 13 students this year. It has been an inspiring journey of growth and success. Our students, coming from diverse linguistic backgrounds, have demonstrated remarkable progress in their language skills. By incorporating hands-on activities, visual aids, role-playing, and peer-supported learning, we have created an engaging environment that fosters understanding, learning, retention, and development.

Kelston Girls' Provision continues to grow and excel across all subjects. Students have significantly improved vocabulary, communication, and overall literacy skills.

This year, A standout initiative has been translating news items into New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) by our senior students, who then share their presentations with peers. This activity has strengthened their language skills and showcased their communication ability across various platforms.

Our Year 9 and 10 cohorts receive special recognition for their consistent dedication across all subjects. Their perseverance and enthusiasm in learning demonstrate the values of our provision.

We are also proud of the creative achievements of our senior students. One Year 13 student has excelled in Dance, completing two assessments with outstanding results. This accomplishment highlights the diverse opportunities available at Kelston Girls' Provision, enabling students to thrive in academic and creative endeavours.

As we reflect on this year's successes, we also prepare to farewell to three senior students who will move on to Tū Kōkiri. Here, they will explore exciting new opportunities for their future, and we wish them the very best.

Kelston Girls' Provision remains a hub of growth, excellence, and achievement, nurturing confident and capable learners ready to embrace the future.
