Rona Moon Keep in Touch (KIT) Day

Carrie Johnston - Resource Teacher of the Deaf and Ann McLaughlin - Resource Teacher of the Deaf —

On June 13th, we held a KIT day in Gisborne. Students from our local primary schools came together to participate in a fun day of building relationships and connections. We based the day around the contemporary story of "Rona Moon", based on the Maori legend of "Rona and the Moon".

Students created a piece of art that represented the importance of whānau. The students had time to connect and support one another, resulting in a high level of collaboration and lots of FUN!
