Where Commitment, Culture, and Connection Converge at Kelston Girls' Provision 2023!
Kelston Girls' Provision has shown an outstanding commitment to learning, actively participated in various activities, and represented Ko Taku Reo in many ways in 2023.
Kelston Girls' Provision had an exciting and adventurous year. This year, we had nine students from Years 9 - 12. All have shown an outstanding commitment to learning by following the school guidelines and timetable and completing their assignments on or before the due dates.
Our learners have embraced all cultures and participated in different cultural activities at school and the broader community, such as Samoan Language Week, Māori Language Week, Tongan Language Week and NZSL Week. Seneuefa and Mea were the participants of the Samoan cultural performance at Kelston Girls' College. Tere, Hevaniah and Mea were involved in Powhiri and Kapa Haka performances organised by Ko Taku Reo. Tere, Hevaniah and Mea were also involved in the Youth Theatre group in Term 2, and performed at the Youth Drama performance.
Emilia, Mea and Sumeya enrolled in Hospitality through the Kelston Girls' College Trades Academy, and they completed the course. They showed an outstanding commitment to the course and have achieved most of the available credits.
Junior and senior students have significantly improved in their literacy and numeracy skills.
Our ākonga have produced many highlights - Liwen is a Year 11 student who has achieved literacy and numeracy credits at Level 1. Overall, she has gained 68 credits at Level 1 and 20 credits at Level 2. Liwen is an outstanding drummer and a fine artist.
Hailey is a Year 11 student who has achieved 21 credits at Level 1 and 20 credits at Level 2, along with her literacy and numeracy credits.
