In a year of uncertainty due to Covid, the franklin team made connectivity a prime objective; ensuring there was time to get together, share learning experiences and build friendships.

We looked at a variety of topics to focus on with our online zoom meetings; Beekeeping, farmyard animals, pets, conservation and music among others. With each topic came a wealth of language (te Reo, NZSL, English) plus a focus on building previously established relationships as the zoomers began to recognise each other from previous sessions. We loved seeing the excitement on our learner’s faces when they spotted a familiar face. Given the success of these remote meetings, we all agreed that we wanted to keep them going, whether we are in lockdown or back to school. Keeping in touch with each other is so important!
