Outreach students visited the Hamilton Zoo.

Sarah Neal & John-Paul Oliver —

On Wednesday 17th March the Waikato RTD’s and outreach students visited the Hamilton Zoo. It was a fun day with stunning weather and it was fantastic to be able to see the new chimp enclosure.

We were also lucky enough to meet up with some of our friends from the Bay of Plenty who had a KIT day at the Zoo on the very same day! How great it was to reaffirm these connections.

Some of the highlights include the meerkat talk, seeing the lemurs up close and the mighty rhinos stumping round.

The day was topped off by enjoying an ice block, some of us ended up being lucky enough to have two ice blocks! It was a fun day and we can’t wait to go back next year.
