Bright Sparks in the Waikato
Getting to visit the Museum was such a fun day for our outreach students.
On Friday 13th August we held a KIT Day at the Waikato Museum. The day was spent exploring Bright Sparks, where we learned about Bridge building and got to create our own massive structures from foam. Some of the teachers enjoyed this more than the students!
Next, we headed into the Excite exhibit where we created a grain factory, changed magnetic fields, and challenged our friends to a game of Mario Karts.
We stopped for lunch and were lucky enough to have pizza gifted to us from Diana at Red Bricks Real Estate. There was so much pizza that the students and the staff had a very full puku.
We then played some games getting to know our new friends. It was hilarious watching some of the students pretend to be animals and try and guess what they were.
For the remainder of the afternoon, we got to explore the rest of the beautiful museum. We had an Eye Spy Challenge and we needed to find a list of exciting things that are in our beautiful local museum. When we completed the challenge, we got a certificate and a beautiful badge.
