Kingi & Dallas

Notice —

Kingi Avery studied Hospitality at Ara Institute of Canterbury for 2019.

He is seen here waiting on his two kuia and pōua.

Master Chef

At my Ara course on the 5th of November my special guests came to my master chef. They came so I could serve them morning tea. It felt great on the day. For my assessment I had to prepare for Tuesday. We started cooking by reading the instructions on the board. We cooked scones, muffins, sausage rolls, club sandwiches and asparagus rolls. I made spiders, tea and coffee, orange juice and lemon lime and bitters.

Dallas and Spatz (Horse)

Dallas Doig went to riding lessons for 2019. He is seen here with his trophy which was awarded for ‘Rider Achievement’.

I got this trophy because I was really good at steering and riding a horse. I am really good at stopping and turning the horse and telling the horse where to go. I learnt how to take a saddle off the horse and I learnt how to change the stirrups and the bridle. I learnt how to tell if they are hot or cold. It made me proud and happy. I used to be nervous around horses but I’m not now because it was good for building my confidence up.
