Wharenui Provision doing what we do best, learn having fun
At Wharenui Provision we work hard but we also have lots of fun whilst learning
This term we have learned a lot about ourselves and our world. At the beginning of the year, we learned how to say our pepeha and we practiced this lots. We are now confident to share this with others. We also had a visit to Turanga Library and looked at the history of Ko Taku Reo and the Sumner area. This was so awesome.
We learned about how to keep our skin safe from the sun's rays. We now know to Slip, Slop, Slap to keep our skin from burning. Even when it is cloudy the sun rays are still strong.
We watched the High School Hui on Zoom and we had a planking challenge with all the other provisions in New Zealand. It was fun time with lots of laughs.
When America's Cup was on we learned a lot about this and the Team Emirates boat and how it works. We made our own boats and had our very own America's Cup Challenge in Tui Class. There were 3 Trophies given out to the winners. Tui Class also made some awesome posters showing their new knowledge of America's Cup.
And this week as the season changed to Autumn we did some artwork that showed the colours of Autumn.
St Patricks Day was a big hit and we all wore 'Green' clothes and brought a 'gold coin' to help with buying new plants for school.
Each Friday we go over to a Wharenui Y1/2 Class and we teach them NZSL. It's so great joining with them and they love it.
