Girls' Day Out KIT Day!
Enjoying a day of arts, crafts and play in Wellington.
In Wellington this term, we held a Girls’ Day Out KIT Day, inviting girls Years 0-6 to come and enjoy a day of arts, crafts, and play.
The students began the day by rotating around three activities – making paper flowers, decorating and potting a pot plant and making bracelets.
Each of these activities required students to make choices about what they wanted each of their final creations to look like. There was a lot of creative thinking happening, as well as Tuakana-teina.
The Fun Zone we made for students to learn through play allowed for social interactions and new friendships to develop. Students chose activities that appealed to them, but then they moved around the other activities when interactions with other students occurred.
The girls had a fantastic day, and so did the RTDs!
