Read all about the Wellington KIT days and the successes of some of our students.

This year the Wellington students have enjoyed two KIT days. The first one in Term 1, was a fun day at Avalon Park, doing rock painting, treasure hunting, and building relationships with each other. After it was postponed a few times, everyone was happy to finally get together.

In Term 2 we had a Make and Create Day at the Wellington Office. The students got to experience slime making and bubble making. They also made some amazing box construction creations and paper planes.

Madison Kiri is a Year 7 student in Naenae and she has been having some amazing success with her writing this year. She has produced an excellent piece of writing about the Skypath, using a picture prompt and letting her creativity run wild. Madison has been working hard on adding descriptive language to her writing and was really proud of this story.

Olivia Clark, who is based in Masterton, has attended van Ash and Ko Taku Reo since she was a pre-schooler. This year we will be saying goodbye to her, as she is completing Level 3 NCEA. She has excelled in many sporting areas and just last year she played Cricket for seven teams, in particular, the Maori Secondary School Girls’ team and Central Districts under 19s. Olivia also plays football for her school's First 11, as well as competing in the North Island secondary school athletics competition in Javelin. Olivia hopes to start a Building Apprenticeship next year. We wish her the best of luck for 2022!

Lockdown proved a challenge for us this year, but we made the most of it by setting some challenges for our students. We had a fort building challenge, where students sent photos and wrote descriptions about the forts they had built.
