Massey High Building Trade Academy

Lisa Sharman - Head of Enrolled School —

Adam Baillie and Mohi King-Whakaue attended Massey High this year and completed The building Trade Academy Level 3.

They attend Massey High full time all year with their building Tutor, Teacher Aide Michelle Keenan and their interpreter. The students learn how to build a three-bedroom house while gaining credits towards NCEA level 3, as well as gaining Building Constructions and Allied Trades certificate.

As part of their training, Adam and Mohi also completed work experience twice a week for Term 3 and 4. Even with the COVID restrictions, this has not stopped Adam from continuing with his work experience through the school holidays and Level 3 in Auckland. Both students have also completed and achieved their Forklift Licence early this year.

Congratulations to Adam. With his hard work, great attitude, and willingness to learn he is on his way to gaining an apprenticeship next year. We wish you every success in your new endeavors!
