Laser Cut - this is cool!!!

Student - Tautoga Papali’i —

Do you know what Laser Cut is?

We are in a mainstream class learning different things. We are in a passion project called Laser Cut. Janne teaches us how to use the laser cut machine.

First step, we drew an alien then the alien needed a hand waving so Anthea and I drew that. I put some interesting boxes and dots, and then we all helped to colour our alien in black and white. When we finished, we take our picture on the iPad and then, using notability, put the alien picture together.

In the second step, we went to the laser cut box and checked Jarvis Gmail for the photo on the laptop. When we found it, we could edit the alien picture. I taught Jean how to use the laptop and laser cut because I'd been taught by Jarvis. Together we edited our alien, then we put some wood in the laser cut before we pressed the go button to start the laser cut.

While the laser cut was on, I watched to see how it worked. It was really interesting technology that I haven't seen before.

Watching the sparking inside laser cut, I was like "wow" but also a little boring to watch as it's a long process, still amazing technology.

Finally, the laser cut was finished  I opened the lid and grabbed the wood it was warm. I look at my alien on the wood and it's awesome.
