A surprise visit from Emma Memma and Elvin Melvin

Mandy Irwin - Lead Teacher —

On Day 1 of Term 4, the Kelston Primary provision was excited to be invited to the Preschool to see Emma Memma and Elvin Melvin! They are musical performers from Australia who are passionate about inclusion and sing songs which incorporate sign language. They were in New Zealand for a series of 'Meet and Greet' events in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch and we were so lucky that they were able to squeeze in a visit to hang out with us at Ko Taku Reo. It was the most memorable start to the Term ever!

Emma Memma shared her butterfly sign and looked beautiful. Elvin Melvin was happy and fun to be around. We sang the song ‘Hello, how are you’ and it was so addictive that we sang it all week!
