Welcome to learning in term 2!

Lynne Guy, Head of Outreach School —

Term 2 is known as the work-intensive term for students and their learning.

Many students receiving direct caseload teaching services from an RTD should have a current IEP well in progress with specific learning goals and timelines for measuring the success of programmes at any level from Year 1 to Year 13. We aim for our students to be lifelong learners! Parents have an important role to play in expressing your wishes for your child’s learning and identifying what is important for your child to be focusing on at school. Many areas have set up successful weekly Hub days and other areas have a variety of KIT days for children to connect with each other while engaged in meaningful learning activities. This newsletter helps us communicate with you about many of the activities/ currently on offer for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a variety of areas across Aotearoa and is one of the ways we can look to develop whanaungatanga across our educational network.
