Hagley College unveils an unforgettable drama performance in Term 3, 2023.
In the drama performance, I was Sebastian, an eccentric man enjoying life.
I enjoyed being part of the cast and loved being on the stage because I felt part of the Year 11 group. I felt confident when I practised and learnt my lines. I felt independent going to practices in the holidays and during school hours. I did not feel nervous during the performance; I felt excited and proud.
My favourite part of the drama performance was in scene 11 because two characters, Judith and Jack, were arguing and throwing some objects off the surfaces, like a toddler throwing a tantrum. It reminded me of watching Shortland Street with two people arguing; it was hilarious.
My lines in scene 5 were challenging. I missed one line, which was "Yep". Another difficult line was "bowled young bung a googly" - this was hard to pronounce. I recovered and repeated my previous line "Ow are ya then?, 'Ow are ya!". I plan to be involved in Level 2 Drama in 2024.
