I am a year 12 student at Woodford House, and I started in 2018 as a Year 7 full boarder. I felt fortunate when I was asked if I would like to be in the school Tempus magazine. I agreed, as this is a great opportunity. I had an interview with teachers, and they asked about the extra support I have at Woodford, being a student with hearing loss. I've enjoyed having lots of support by having one-on-one time with the teachers in small classrooms. Another step for being in the school magazine was to have some photos taken. I was proud when the school magazine was published.

During the October school holidays, I received a message from the promotional team asking if I would like to be on a billboard placed at one of the two entrances at Woodford House. The same photograph that was used in the magazine has been blown up much larger on the billboard. I am proud to be on the school billboard signing this is a huge honour. I feel like I'm making a positive contribution to the Deaf community. I heard that this advertising has helped other families with hearing differences consider Woodford House for their daughter's intermediate and high school years. It's nice to feel like I'm making a big difference to others.
