Exciting Times at Kelston Boys by Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education NZ
Ram Prakash - Provision Lead Teacher — September 14, 2023
Term 3 has been exciting for Kelston Boys High School Deaf Provision. The senior students have been so busy trying to finish off their practical work, such as the Painting boards, woodwork projects and Photography portfolios for their NCEA Credits.
The Junior students have been busy as well. Frank and Hearty are the newbies to the provision, joining from Intermediate schools early in the year. Hearty is a bright and talented student who has made quite an impression with his culinary skills, delighting everyone with his delectable baked goodies. Hearty is dedicated to expanding his knowledge, particularly in mathematics and the associated vocabulary.
Frank is also a fantastic student who is fully mainstreamed and excelling in all his subjects. He did exceptionally well on athletics day, shining in events like running, long jump and high jump. He was almost chosen for the Western Zone Athletics competition. Frank is passionate about basketball and has been playing for Kelston Boys High Junior basketball team.
Our students put in a lot of hard work in preparing the mural for Matariki and always take an active leadership role at the Rūaumoko Marae for any cultural activities.
