Selva Naidoo - Teacher of the Deaf and James Anderson-Pole - Teacher of the Deaf — November 23, 2022
In Term 3 we had an exciting creative journey learning how to make stop-motion films and discovered some future Hollywood talent in our midst!
Every Friday after lunch, our Junior and Senior groups came together to work on stop-motion films. Students created characters and props out of modelling clay, and backdrops out of decorated paper.
At the end of each session everyone looked forward to watching each others’ films. It was exciting to watch different stories and learn to give and receive feedback. Students enjoyed sharing ideas on how to improve their films for next time.
Every week, everyone got slightly better with practice - characters got more refined and filming improved. At the at the end of the term, everyone was proud to share their films with whānau at the Arts Showcase. Ka pai to all Puia students for making extraordinary stop-motion films!
