These yearbook articles highlight numerous achievements and provide insight into the many and varied opportunities our students have taken advantage of in 2022.

My congratulations to all our Ko Taku Reo ākonga for the positivity, commitment and passion you have demonstrated in making the most of these opportunities.

This year we've continued to embark on important programmes of work focused on equity and excellence for our rangitahi.

In the Teaching and Learning area, it has been satisfying to see several long-term pieces of work, started when the school was new in 2020, begin to demonstrate a significant and positive impact on learners.

• Learning profiles and learning needs are better known
• Learners are more connected to each other and to their learning communities
• Learning goals are targeted with a wide range of effective strategies
• Learners can own and direct their learning

We continue to build productive working partnerships with other experts in Deaf Education, both within the context of Aotearoa and Internationally.

Our Senior Leadership Team remains committed to building a world-leading Deaf Education service and it was a thrill to make connections with Australian colleages in the second half of the year once Covid travel restrictions had eased. We're looking forward to building on these exciting connections to benefit learners and staff alike.

The staff of Ko Taku Reo have continued to work tirelessly to ensure our akonga become the very best they can be. Our learning environments are full of inspiration, support, challenge, and growth. Working alongside such a talented and dedicated group of professionals is a pleasure, and I pay tribute to them.
