Kids Making Change

Isabella and Brayden - Room 23 —

The Junk to Funk topic this term has inspired many of our pupils to think about the impact our choices have on the environment.

In Room 23 we have been talking about litterless lunches. We have been talking about cutting down on the packaging we use. Like, instead of using little chip packets, buy one large one and share the chips in reusable containers. This means that we are producing less waste and saving money.

We have talked about making different choices with our food selection. So, instead of treats we have talked about choosing fruit and vegetables. Any waste from left over fruit and vegetables can go in the compost rather than landfill.

This term we have seen action take place in our class. On our whiteboard we track the number of people who have litterless lunches and lots more people are bringing litterless lunches now.

Greta's quote means to us that if we don't take action no one else will.

It has been good to see lots of changes in our class about how people pick their food now.
