Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP) Fun in Year One!
Last week we launched the Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP) for our Year One children.
This programme uses a variety of activities that develop gross, fine motor skills, and core strength. These skills are vital for the development of children's Reading and Writing. As the year progresses the activities will become more challenging. The children get to participate in two 20 minute sessions a week where they rotate around five activities.
They had lots of fun during their 20 minute session. The Year One team would like to say a huge thank you to the parent helpers - Chelsea Andrews, Nicky Thompson, Pam Phander-Buxton , Katherine Avery, Julie Preston and Tina Jones - for taking time out to support this programme. Without their help we would not be able to run the programme.
Here are some stories the children wrote from Room 3 (our youngest students) about their first Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP) session.
