Flippa ball is a very fast-paced game, where the kids learn water, ball and teamwork skills.

This year has got off to a great start with 4 teams competing in the Waitakere Flippa ball league against other West Auckland schools.

The Super Fins, who played outstandingly last year in the year 3-4 league have moved to the year 5-6 league. The competition is a little tougher and all the games have been very close. They have learned great teamwork and are using all the skills and strategies they gained over the past two years.

Due to demand, we established a second Year 5-6 team, the Big Fins, who are picking up the game very quickly considering most have not played before. If the Big Fins play the Super Fins in the next few weeks it will be a competitive game!

It is really exciting to have 2 completely new year 3-4 teams, the Small Fins and the Bluefins. The first game bought some excitement and nerves as many had not only never played before, but had never even seen the sport and had little idea how to play. Each week the players have improved and are doing well learning to defend, attack, and work together as a team.

A huge thanks to Sheree and Andre for helping manage and coach the year 3-4 teams so I can focus on the year 5-6s.
