Although there are currently no speed restrictions in place near our school please take care during the morning drop off and afternoon pick up routine.

Children do not have a good understanding of vehicle speed and find it difficult to estimate safe crossing distances when vehicles are approaching. The graphic above provides a great reminder about our need to collectively slow down around schools.

The PTA and BoT have both expressed concern about the lack of crossings within our school community, the speed of local traffic as well as an increase in the number of incidents of vehicles hitting children.

Although this site might not appear to be the best place to raise a concern, it does allow you to register a concern which Auckland Transport will need to investigate.

It will take a concerted effort from the Konini and Glen Eden community to get Auckland Transport to take action.
