I did say that last week was the final newsletter for the term...

I thought there was still lots to share before the end of term so here's the final newsletter for Term 2.

Tomorrow we will be holding an end of term mihi whakatau to formally welcome all the new pupils and whānau who have joined us this term. Following the karanga, our Kapa Haka will welcome everyone with a haka powhiri. I am sure we will have lots of whānau joining us tomorrow. Please note that there is limited seating spaces in the hall so additional seating and standing options will be provided on the deck.

There is lots to look forward to next term. Here's a break down of school and community events to record on your calendar;

Matariki Celebrations

We will be celebrating Matariki as a school and community on Friday the 31st of July, from 5.30 pm - 7.30 pm. Classrooms will be open for you to see some of the learning activities the children have been up to. You will also have the opportunity to see our Kapa Haka and dance groups perform. Our Matariki celebrations wouldn't be the same without glow worm tours and food.

Written reports

Mid year reports have been pushed back to Thursday the 6th of August. The written report has been modified, with the learning progress graph for Reading, Writing and Mathematics removed. That information will be shared later in the term.

Planting Bees

We have an ambitious planting plan this year and have two dates set for planting new natives in Term 2 - Sunday 15 August and Sunday 13 September.   Both planting bees will run from 10.00 am - 12.00 pm.

Learning Conferences

Two days have been set aside for parent/teacher learning conferences on the 16th and 17th of September. School will finish at 1.00 pm on the 16th, so conferences can start at 1.30 pm. The learning progress report will be shared at this meeting.

Sparta Kids

The PTA are looking forward to running Konini School's third Sparta Kids event on the Sunday 20 September. More information about this popular event will be shared early next term.
