Andrew Ducat —

Kia ora koutou whānau. We are looking forward to welcoming you all back on Monday.

We have been in this situation before and are becoming experts at welcoming whānau back after Alert Level 3.

Please check the article about our pick up and drop off routines if you are new to Konini or need a quick reminder about Alert Level 2 protocols.

There have been a number of changes to the school calendar.

  • The Year 1 and Year 3 trips have been postponed until term 4.
  • We have moved the Learning Celebration dates to week 10 - Wednesday 23 September (School finishes at 1.00 pm) and Thursday 24 (School finishes at 3.00 pm).
  • Sparta Kids has been postponed and a new date will be set when we move back to Alert Level 1.
  • A new date for our community planting bee will also be confirmed once we move back to Alert Level 1.
  • In Term 4 we have booked in a Teacher Only Day on Friday the 23rd of October. This means that school will be closed. Hopefully you can enjoy an extra long weekend break as Labour Day is on the 26th.

Masks

Staff and students are not required to wear masks when we return, however, we recognise that some children may wish to do so. Staff will support whatever decision whānau make regarding wearing masks. We will do our best to make sure that everyone values the right of individual choice in this situation and that no one feels uncomfortable if they choose to wear a mask or not.

Please note that we have physical distancing protocols in place across the school along with thorough hygiene practices.
