Attendence

Andrew Ducat —

Regular school attendance matters.

Regular school attendance is fundamental to your child's educational journey. As I am sure you all know - attending school consistently ensures they fully participate in classroom activities, build strong friendships, and develop essential life skills. When children attend school consistently, they can consolidate and build upon their learning, leading to better academic outcomes.

Currently, 74% of our students—277 pupils—attend school 90-100% of the time. While this is a positive start, our goal is for all our tamariki to achieve this level of attendance.

The Government has set a target for 80% of students to be present for more than 90% of the term by 2030. We are currently below this target so achieving this requires a collective effort from all of us.

We understand that various factors, including health issues, family circumstances, and other challenges, can impact attendance. If your child is facing difficulties attending school regularly (and you have not already spoken with your child's teacher), please reach out to us. Together, we can identify and address any barriers to ensure they receive the support they need.
