Did you know Konini School is going for a Green-Gold Sustainable Schools Award?

Mandy Vanderwee —

That means we have to know ourselves that we are a living evolving school with the Enviro Guiding Principles woven into all aspects of our school life. This is called a 'reflection'.

On Friday 13 November some special visitors from Auckland Council will join us for a 'reflection day'. The All Greens Group, some ex-pupils, teachers and whānau will tour the school and talk about all our activities and strong connections to the environment. We have a digital movie to share and artworks to show, to measure the changes that have taken place since we got our Silver Enviro Award in 2015. Every little aspect of being an enviro school is important, so when families help our school and our community to support environmental initiatives this makes all the difference.  For example - community planting days, litterless lunches, joining our enviro groups, PTA, recycling pens/bread tags/oral care brigade, walking to and from school and more..... Look at some pictures below of our enviro activities in action.
