Why are we still using plastic?

Now I understand that people are still making plastic because they want to make money and care for their families.  However, plastic is destroying our beloved planet.  So even if plastic became a huge success and made bazillions they would have nothing to spend it on because there would be nothing left and our planet would be wasted.  Also people are putting food scraps in the landfill and it is letting out a bad greenhouse gas called methane (it also comes from cow farts) and it is creating global warming which is causing habitat loss.  So hey you! help us stop habitat loss, global warming and most important of all STOP USING PLASTIC!

Today I was going to share my thinking with Ms Aldworth.  I told her if you sold loads of plastic for millions you would be rich but how would you spend it in a world that doesn't exist?  So I though that if all the fossil fuels were used for plastic we wouldn't have time to be smart enough to save the world from global warming which will effect all parts of the world.  And we wouldn't want humans to snap out of existence.  That would be sad.  So if you're the type of person that says "we gotta stop the horrible destruction of plastic" but uses plastic everyday then ... QUIT BEING A SILLY PANTS!! and start cleaning up planet earth.
