Kia ora kotou whānau

Andrew Ducat —

As term 2 draws to a close we can all look forward to a well earned break.

School finishes for the term on Friday the 3rd of July. Including the 4 weeks of distance based learning during Alert Level 3 and 4, your children have been working with their teacher for 12 weeks. I am sure they are ready for the holidays.

A special welcome goes out to all our new pupils and whānau who have joined us since the lockdown. Mrs Nobbs opened Room 6 for our newest students two weeks ago and is already nearly full. Our new entrant numbers keep growing so next term Ms Moxon and Mrs Brown will be opening Room 5 part way through term 3. We are very lucky to be able to find such great teachers to open our new entrant classes.

Next week we will be holding an end of term mihi whakatau to formally welcome all the new pupils and whānau who have joined us this term. This is something we normally do at the start of the term but were unable to do this due to the physical distancing restrictions that were in place when we returned to school. If your child has joined Konini this term you will have received an invitation and I hope you are able to join us on Friday the 3rd of January at 9.00 am.

Sadly we farewell Mrs Gardonis at the end of the term. Veronica has taken over the teacher responsibilities in Room 12 while Ms Roberts was granted leave by the Board to travel. On behalf of the staff and children, thank you Veronica for the great work you have done in Room 12 and we wish you all the best for the future.
