Students Leaders report to the Board of Trustees
Each term a group of student leaders prepare a report to the Board of Trustees on an aspect of learning at Konini School. Darnika, from Room 20 talks about what she and some of her friends shared with the Board.
At the end of Term 1, Jesse Biddle, Kiera Warren Nevalagi, Darnika McDonald (that's me), Luke Mayhew and Hayley MacIntosh shared a presentation we had put together on 'tools that help us learn at Konini School' with the Board.
In the presentation we talked about how we use devices in the classrooms to help our learning. We use some fun and helpful websites that help us gain knowledge in maths and reading. We have learnt how to use Pic Collage, See Saw, Thing Link and Popplet. They are good apps that help us brainstorm ideas and demonstrate our learning.
Some of the other tools that help us with our learning are music. We think music helps calm our brain and it helps us to be creative. At the meeting we even shared a piece of music with the Board that we had learnt to play on the marimbas.
We also talked about our library and how we think books are important tools. They are important because we learn new words and gain new knowledge.
Kiwi Sports with Anton and Football sessions with Jack are also important. We learn games that teach us the importance of team work. They are also really fun.
There isn't just one tool we use to help with our learning at Konini - there are lots.
