Teacher Strike 29 May 2019

Mandy Vanderwee —

Wednesday was a historic occasion. Our teachers joined 14,000 other passionate educators and whanau to march up Queen Street.

It really was a special occasion - the first time that both Primary and Secondary teachers joined together to share their message with the government. As we proceeded up the centre of town we chanted with our colleagues to spread the important message that teachers are important and deserve to be listened to. Many placards were created and shared around.

Linda Stuart from the NZEI led the speeches in Aotea Square and our very own Marnie Wilton (one of our Konini parents) spoke in support of teachers.

Thank you to all our whanau in the community for your support of the current teaching crisis.
